Two days ago, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry boldly proclaimed himself as the greatest point guard in NBA history.
Curry’s self-assessment has made headlines after the video of the interview made rounds on Twitter.

On Monday, Gilbert Arenas, on his podcast, asked Curry: “Are you the best point guard ever?”
Curry with a pause answered: “Yes, I’d have to — yes,” he said after being asked the question. “It’s me and Magic, that’s the conversation? … Obviously, I have to answer it that way, but I really feel like, to your point, Magic’s resume is ridiculous. Alright, so the fact that we’re even having that conversation, that’s a place I never thought I’d be in.”
Well, Stephen Curry vs. Magic Johnson will never die down.
Here are the achievements of Curry’s NBA career:
— 4x NBA Champ
— 1x Finals MVP
— 2x MVP
— 9x All-Star
— 9x All-NBA
— 2x Scoring Champ
— All-time leader in 3PM
— 1st Unanimous MVP in league History
— Led the Warriors to a 73-9 season
— Franchises leader in PTS, AST, STL, FGM & 3PM
— NBA 75th Anniversary Team
Magic’s statistical prowess is equally awe-inspiring. Throughout his illustrious career, he averaged an impressive 19.5 points per game and dished out 11.2 assists per game.
Both are undeniably the two greatest point guards ever, yet their play styles are so distinct that comparing the two is nearly impossible.
In the end, comparing Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry is like comparing two different eras of basketball.
Both are undeniably the two greatest point guards ever, but their greatness is rooted in their distinct styles and the eras they shaped.
