Caleb Farley, the esteemed cornerback of the Tennessee Titans, lost his father in an apparent house explosion causing extensive damage to the family home in North Carolina.
This devastating incident not only claimed a life but also left another individual injured.
According to a statement by the Iredell County Fire Marshal’s Office, Robert M. Farley’s lifeless body was found on Tuesday morning among the wreckage of his Lake Norman, North Carolina home.
However, Caleb Farley, the owner of the mansion was not present in the house at the time of the explosion said Kent Greene, Director of Iredell County Fire Services and Emergency Management.
Farley, being the 22nd overall pick in the 2021 draft, was placed on the injured reserve list in November due to a back issue, and has played only 12 games in his first two seasons.
Currently Farley is listed under the physically unable to perform list at the Titans’ training camp.
Coach Mike Vrabel expressed his support and offered his condolences for Farley and his family.
Vrabel said, “What’s most important is we do everything we can to support him emotionally. As teammates, coaches, organization. It’s just shocking. Also got to focus on Caleb and his family and what we can do to support them and be there for him.”
