During a recent interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson shared his candid thoughts on delving into his preconceived notions about Sean Payton’s relentless win-at-all-costs mentality.
“I always knew he was a winner,” the Broncos quarterback said. “Winners have habits. Winning is a habit.”
As per Wilson, his firsthand experience as a player under Payton’s guidance brought a new level of appreciation for the head coach’s mindset.
“He’s the same guy every day in the sense that he wants to be the best in the world,” Wilson added referring to Payton.
Well, the quarterback’s admiration wasn’t solely focused on Payton’s football acumen.
“I think the best thing is how he leads the whole organization. I mean, the detail from inside the building to the locker room to everything else,” Wilson exclaimed, shedding light on Payton’s broader influence.

Denver Broncos welcomed Sean Payton as the 20th head coach in franchise history on February 3, 2023.
The decision came on the heels of the team’s dismissal of former head coach Nathaniel Hackett at the close of the previous season.
With an illustrious career spanning across an impressive 34 years, Payton brings with him a wealth of NFL experience.
As the Broncos gear up for the upcoming season, all eyes are on Payton, who will make his regular-season coaching debut with the team on Sept. 10.
