The New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis has announced his retirement from the NFL after six seasons.
Davis took to social media, and in a post stated:
“For some time now I’ve been contemplating stepping away from the sport of football,” Davis wrote. “This decision has not been easy. Although I am a deep person, I am a man of few words. I’ve been searching my heart for what to do and I feel that stepping away from the game is the best path for me at this time.”

Corey Davis entered the NFL as a highly-touted prospect, drafted fifth overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2017 Draft.
After four seasons with the Titans, he signed a three-year, $37.5 million deal with the Jets.
Davis is set to end his career with 3,879 receiving yards on 273 catches with 17 touchdowns over 78 games.
