The Broncos will be hoping their star quarterback Rusell Wilson will regain his form after a dismal 2022 season and make amends this time out.
Wilson spent 10 successful years at the Seahawks before making the move to Denver ahead of their last campaign.
The Broncos finished last in the AFC West Conference and that was largely down to an indifferent start for the dual-threat QB.
The North Carolina State linecaller is a Superbowl winner and a Walter Payton NFL man of the Year (2020) and will look to add to his 9-time Pro Bowl appearances.
“Do I feel pressure? No. I don’t run from it I run to it, if anything,” the defiant QB was quoted.
“There will be pressure on Wilson off course, especially with new Head Coach Sean Payton now in charge. The HC has brought renewed optimism into the Denver ranks, and Wilson will look to bounce off that energy.
“We as a team, we’re all in this together. We’re all searching for one thing and that’s to get better every day,” he said.
The NFL passing rating leader in 2015, and the passing touchdown leader in 2017, will look to bring his Seattle form to Denver and repay the team and the fans, especially after leading the Seahawks to a Superbowl win in 2014 against the Broncos (43-8).
The following year Wilson became the first QB in NFL history to lead his team to back-to-back Superbowl appearances in his first three seasons, but the Seattle side succumbed to the Patriots 28-24 in a tight game.
In 2022 Wilson was sacked more than any NFL quarterback. He is hoping the sack stat ends this campaign.
