Brooks Koepka has been the center of attention in recent days as the US Team assembles its roster for the 2023 Ryder Cup.

Koepka’s decision to leave the PGA Tour and join LIV Golf has left his status for the Ryder Cup in question. LIV Golf is funded by the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Saudi Arabia, which has led to plenty of controversy surrounding those who opted to be a part of the newfound tour.

Since then, PGA and LIV Golf have merged to unite after an extended legal battle. Despite the merger, there have still been ongoing debates regarding politics and what it means for the game of golf. However, some people have no issues with it, including some members of the US Ryder Cup Team.

World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler, who has already qualified for the team, stated that he has no qualms if Koepka was selected by US captain Zach Johnson to join the squad. Brian Harman, who has also already qualified, stated "I think he [Koepka] would be a pretty good addition to the team."

Harman was very candid when asked about how he’d feel about Koepka’s presence on the team. "In my opinion, the goal of the Ryder Cup is to win, so whoever Zach thinks that can help us win the Ryder Cup I think needs to be on the team."

The US Team hasn’t won a Ryder Cup on foreign soil in 30 years. If the 2023 team wants to end that drought, some people may have to put their pride aside for the sake of the greater good.
