How much money will Chris Jones lose if he continues holdout until Week 8? All the details and numbers

Chris Jones, the defensive tackle of the Kansas City Chiefs revealed he is willing to hold out until Week 8. Jones’ holdout can cost him up to $10 million in fines.

The 29-year-old is holding out as a mutually agreeable deal is yet to be signed between him and the Chiefs. However, Jones still has a year to go and $19.5 million is his base salary.

If he continues the holdout even after the regular season starts, he will miss these Chiefs games: Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers.

The Week 8 game of the Kansas City Chiefs will be played on October 29 against the Denver Broncos.

Andy Reid, Chiefs’ head coach revealed, “there’s been no communication”

So, it would seem no progress has been made. According to ESPN, Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs’ quarterback said “I don’t think anyone expected him not to be here now, but that’s part of the contract negotiation stuff. I’m not looking down on him for anything like that. He has stuff that he’s tried to get done that he feels like he needs to, to get done right now. I respect his decision,”

The defensive tackle is liable to a daily fine of $50,000 for missing training camp. Jones’ had a career-high 15.5 sacks last season. He was also named to the first-team All-Pro.
