In an eagerly awaited announcement, Las Vegas Raiders’ star running back, Josh Jacobs, took to social media on Saturday to announce his return to the team after an off-season filled with uncertainty.
Josh Jacobs’ holdout stemmed from his refusal to sign the $10.091 million franchise tag offered to him by the Las Vegas Raiders, which also kept him away from the club throughout the offseason and the training camp.
However, Jacobs and the Raiders have agreed to terms on a new one-year contract worth up to $12 million, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Saturday.
Moreover, according to Rapoport and Pelissero, Jacobs can earn another $200,000 in incentives under the new contract.
However, the general manager Dave Ziegler, recently met with the rushing leader Josh Jacobs, and his agent to discuss and finalize the terms of a new agreement.
The meeting took place at a popular restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip, revealing the team’s commitment to building a strong future with Jacobs.
While Jacobs missed out on the final exhibition game against the Cowboys in Dallas, sources suggest that he is expected to rejoin the team soon.
Raiders’ GM Dave Ziegler met this week at a restaurant in Las Vegas with Josh Jacobs and his agent to lay the groundwork for the adjusted contract that was agreed to today. The two sides have met, spoken, and Jacobs is ready to go.

Although all the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Raiders owner Mark Davis with so much excitement publicly announced his feelings towards Jacobs’s return to the team.
“I love him. I love Josh,” Davis told ESPN. “He’s phenomenal. He was the heart of our team, in my mind. He came to play every day. Tough, tough, tough guy. Just really proud of him. He was a Raider. If we had 22 Josh Jacobs on the roster, with that mentality, amazing.”
