The New York Giants are set to make a big call on the future of running back James Robinson, according to an inside source close to the camp.
The Giants only recently signed the RB from the Patriots but strong indications from the camp suggest the 21 July signing may be headed out.
Robinson signed a one-year deal with the New York team worth just over $1 million. There must still be lingering concerns about an Achilles injury, as the Patriots only signed the RB in March of this year, on a two-year contract.
The medical teams from both New England and the Giants must have seen a medical report, forcing them to act so sharply towards the still-young 25-year-old.
After signing for the Jaguars in 2020 as an undrafted free agent he enjoyed a stellar season, breaking the NFL record for most scrimmage yards, by an undrafted rookie.
He enjoyed two seasons in Jacksonville before a year at the Jets.
The Patriots signed the former Illinois State RB on medical contingency earlier this year.
Robinson may be left stranded this season.
