Carolina Panthers Bolster Receiving Corps: Acquire Ihmir Smith-Marsette from Chiefs in Trade Deal

In a recent move, the Carolina Panthers have acquired wide receiver/returner Ihmir Smith-Marsette from the Kansas City Chiefs in a trade, in return for a trade of conditional 2025 seventh-round picks.

Smith-Marsette has shown promising stats and was second in the league’s preseason in receiving yards, after he garnered two touchdowns in three games and with 9 receptions for 195 yards.

The wide receiver was picked by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, he has also spent his game time with the Chicago Bears and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Throughout the 16 games he played for the Vikings and the Bears, he amassed two touchdowns and six catches for 131 yards.

The NFL regular season is approaching quickly and the Carolina Panthers unfortunately have three receivers who are subdued by injuries and they are among their top five.

The receivers Laviska Shenault Jr., DJ Chark, and Terrace Marshall Jr. were absent in the preseason finale.
