In a bittersweet moment that tugs at the heartstrings, MLB third baseman Josh Donaldson has bid adieu to his chapter with the New York Yankees.
He took to Instagram to share a heartwarming family picture with his fiancee Brianna, as they lovingly cradled their two children, Aubrey and Lilly.
“I’d like to say thank you to everyone for the love and support over the years !! I’ve had the opportunity to play with some great teammates and organizations. I wish nothing but the best to the New York Yankees,” reads the IG Story.

The decision to part ways with Donaldson was undoubtedly influenced by his recent health struggles. The veteran had found himself languishing on the dreaded 60-day injured list due to a high-grade calf strain. Unfortunately, his prospects of making a return to the diamond before mid-September were dashed due to his ineligibility.
Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees announced a massive trade on March 13, 2022, where they parted ways with a trio of standout players, Josh Donaldson, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and Ben Rortvedt, in exchange for the dynamic duo of Gary Sánchez and Gio Urshela.
In 2023, Donaldson’s 2023 MLB season hasn’t been the smoothest ride.
Through the first 33 games of the season, Donaldson’s once formidable batting prowess seemed to have hit a snag, with the slugger managing a batting average of just .142.
For a player known for his power at the plate, the 10 home runs and 15 RBIs he mustered during this period were far from his usual standards of excellence.
