Fame is truly a double-edged sword and LSU gymnastics superstar Olivia Dunne is discovering the harsh reality of it.
Apparently, Dunne’s boyfriend and Pittsburgh Pirates’ pitching prodigy Paul Skenes took the mound for his Double-A debut on Saturday night. However, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 MLB draft failed to live up to the lofty expectations while playing against the Akron Rubberducks.
“A bad outing is just a bad outing,” Skenes told MiLB.com. “It’s just baseball. Obviously, I want to go out there and win and pitch as best as I can every outing, and I’m going to do everything to prepare to do that for every outing. But, it is baseball. The beautiful thing is it’s never as bad as it seems, and it’s never as good as it seems.”
However, instead of focusing on Skenes’ failure to perform, his fans targeted Olivia Dunne to vent out their disappointment.

In spite of Skenes placing the team at an initial disadvantage of 4-0, Altoona secured a 9-8 win on Saturday’s game against Akron Rubberducks.
On Saturday, Olivia was present at the ballgame to root for Paul Skenes’ highly anticipated Double-A debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Sporting the MLB team’s jersey, Dunne joined the crowd in rallying behind the young pitcher.
In mid-August, Paul Skenes officially confirmed the dating rumors with Olivia Dunne, putting an end to weeks of speculation on the internet.
Paul and Olivia met through mutual friends. It turns out that Garrett Edward, who is close friends with Skenes, is romantically involved with Dunne’s best friend, Elenas Arenas.
