On Tuesday, the New Orleans Saints officially waived Warren G. Harding graduate Lynn Bowden.
Bowden signed with the Saints in mid-June but couldn’t make enough impact to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
He’s struggled to find a role in the NFL over the past few seasons, as he spent time with the Raiders, Dolphins, and Patriots before joining the Saints this summer.
It’s unclear whether he’ll draw interest from other clubs ahead of the 2023 campaign.
NFL rosters were supposed to include 53 players by 4 p.m.
During the preseason, Bowden caught three passes for 40 yards with the Saints.
He was on special teams as a punt returner and kickoff returner.
Bowden originally signed as a free agent with the Saints in June.
The 25-year-old spent the entire 2022 season on the Patriots’ practice squad after being cut by the Dolphins at the end of training camp.
He was elevated to the Patriots’ active roster for one game during the season, seeing limited action at wide receiver.
Bowden was signed by New England to a futures contract in January but released in May.
He missed the entire 2021 season with Miami with an injury.
In 2020, he appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins, finishing the season with 28 receptions for 211 yards.
On August 30, 2022, the Dolphins released him.
He was a third-round selection (No. 80 overall) by the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft following a standout college career at the University of Kentucky.
He earned First Team All-America honors as a senior.
With Lynn Bowden released by the Saints today, all the five players the Raiders picked in the top 100 of the 2020 draft are not currently on an NFL roster.
Round 1, Pick No. 12: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
Round 1, Pick No. 19: Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State
Round 3, Pick No. 80: Lynn Bowden Jr., RB/WR, Kentucky
Round 3, Pick No. 81: Bryan Edwards, WR, South Carolina
Round 3, Pick No. 100: Tanner Muse, S, Clemson
Ex-Raiders WR Ruggs, 24, had been under house arrest with alcohol and location electronic monitoring devices since pleading guilty in May to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter in the crash that killed Tina Tintor and her dog, Max.
Former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Damon Arnette emerged from a Nevada courtroom Monday saying he hopes to play this season in the NFL, maybe with the Dallas Cowboys after he resolved a felony 2022-gun case by pleading guilty to two misdemeanors.

The Saints waived Edwards on Tuesday. Edwards ran 40 routes for the Saints in two preseason games but caught just three of nine targets for 37 scoreless yards.
He was held without a catch on four targets against the Chargers on Sunday night.
Edwards spent parts of 2022 with the Falcons and Chiefs and will now look for his fifth NFL team.
Los Angeles has claimed linebacker Tanner Muse, he was let go by the Steelers this week.
Muse appeared in all 17 games for the Seahawks last season, 70 percent of special teams’ snaps and seven percent of defensive snaps.
He finished the season with 16 tackles and one pass defense. Muse was a Raiders third-round pick in 2020 but missed the year due to injury.
Las Vegas waived him in Sept. 2021 without ever taking a regular season snap for the team.
Muse joined Seattle’s practice squad a couple of days later.
The linebacker signed with the Steelers in April.
