One day ago, New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte shared a snapshot of himself and his fiancée Elianny enjoying a cozy moment in the backseat of a luxurious Rolls Royce.
The IG post was a major update about the next step of their relationship where Apparently, Marte popped the question to Elianny and she said, “Yes!”
In August, Marte was placed on the 10-day IL with a right groin strain. He also underwent surgery on both sides of his groin last offseason.
So, when Marte revealed the engagement news with a PDA-filled picture with his fiancee, some MLB fans couldn’t resist the opportunity to come up with playful humor.
Here’s how fans responded:
“That groin injury ain’t gettin enough rest.”
“Explains the groin injuries.”
“We know why he had a groin injury.”
While another fan insisted him return to the diamond. To which, one fan chimed in saying, “Let the man rest and be ready for next year.”
When MLB.com asked Marte about the possibility of undergoing additional surgery during the upcoming offseason, he replied saying:
“It’s complicated. That’s a conversation that’s going to have to be had with the trainers. I’m sure they’re talking about it. They’re having meetings about it. They probably know better than I do.”
Starling Marte has been playing in the Mets since 2022. Previously, he had played with Pittsburgh Pirates (2012–2019), Arizona Diamondbacks (2020), Miami Marlins (2020–2021) and Oakland Athletics (2021).
Not many MLB fans are aware that Marte was married and has three children with his now-deceased spouse, Noelia Brazoban.
In May 2020 Brazoban passed away after suffering from a cardiac arrest as she was about to undergo surgery for a fractured ankle.
