Hard Knocks is like The Kardashians: NBA Insider blasts HBO Show on Undisputed debut

Rachel Nichols is one of the most prominent and esteemed sports broadcasters in the US, and she has covered almost every, major sporting event in her illustrious career.

She took umbrage to the recently aired Hard Knocks reality TV show, calling it similar in nature to the Kardashians.

Nichols was named by Sports Illustrated back in 2014 as “the country’s most impactful and prominent females’ sports journalist.”

Hard Knocks is an HBO documentary Series, co-released by the NFL and follows football teams across the league, covering primarily the preseason camps and limited in-season episodes. The show has been going for 17 seasons, recently featuring the New York Jets.

The show has also covered the Cardinals (in-season) and the Detroit Lions in 2022, among many others.

The show has aired 105 episodes and is popular with fans regardless of team loyalty, due to its exciting format and up-close-and-personal view from the inside of the camp.

Nichols joined Fox Sports this month, starring in the Undisputed show with the likes of KeyShawn Johnson, Skip Bayless, Michael Irvin, and Richard Sherman.

The all-star panel are known to be on the controversial side at times, with their arguments and debates often n out fellow panellists.

She is a former Showtime and ESPN broadcaster.

“This is a reality show! This isn’t 60 minutes, its not journalism,” she said.

The latest episode of Hard Knocks featured a tiff between New York Jets star QB Aaron Rodgers and Giants WR Jihad Ward.

The pair were in a shoving contest on a preseason game, with Rodgers telling the wide receiver, “Show some respect … I don’t even know who you are.”

Ward has hit back saying the show did not adequately cover the situation, where he was standing up for fellow player Bobby McCain, who was hit by an illegal blindside tackle.

McCain is still on the concussed list, and Ward implied Rodgers and his Jets teammates were laughing at the ‘tackle’ and its immediate aftermath.

Rodgers has since continued the war of words, saying, “I don’t care,” when pressed about the incident.

According to Nichols, Hard Knocks was always going to favor the legendary Rodgers, and this has added to the fallout.
