Stephen A. Smith is typically known for shouting and giving his input and analysis on relevant news in the sports world on live television, but he took some time out of his segment to have a political discussion.
On his most recent podcast episodes of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Smith urged Democrats to avoid looking “stupid” by having current President Joe Biden against the well-documented Republican candidate, Donald Trump.
Smith cited Biden’s age as a major cause for concern and something that needs to be considered when voting. “You call yourself progressives, and the best you can do is an 82-year-old that’s already in office, an 82-year-old incumbent.”
Smith wants a younger and fresher face in office to represent the United States. He referenced Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California, as a viable option despite his high tax policies.
“I’ve never seen, since Biden has been president, anyone on the liberal side that has been more forceful, more convincing, and more defying against the right than Gavin Newsom,” said Smith. Smith added, “But then I come out to California, and these damn taxes, they invent ways to take your money in this state.”
The ESPN host is using his platform to inform his viewers and encourage them to have anyone other than current President Joe Biden represent the Democratic Party in the upcoming election.
