Future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is looking forward to his first season with the New York Jets. The Jets acquisition of Rodgers has made them one of the most talked about teams this offseason and now all eyes are on them as the beginning of the season approaches.
"Obviously, there are a lot of expectations," Rodgers stated via ESPN’s Rich Cimini. He added that the Jets have "a legitimate chance" to make it to the Super Bowl. With great expectations and contending for a Super Bowl, comes a lot of doubt and criticism, and Rodgers is no stranger to that.
"A lot of people are going to be pulling for us to fall flat – the crows as [Robert] Saleh referred to them."
Rodgers is the highest-profile quarterback the Jets have had since Joe Namath played for the team from 1965-1977, leading the Jets to their only Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
The Jets acquired Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers this offseason in exchange for a first-round pick swap in the 2023 NFL Draft, a second-round pick, a sixth-round pick, and a conditional second-round pick in 2024.
Rodgers spent 18 seasons with the Packers, cementing himself as one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. He is a four-time AP NFL MVP Award winner, 10-time Pro-Bowler, four-time All-Pro, and one-time Super Bowl Champion. He is motivated and prepared to add a second Super Bowl to his resume in his first season with the Jets.
