ESPN’s ‘CollegeGameDay’ Debuts New Theme Song Amid Mixed Fan Reactions

ESPN’s “CollegeGameDay” has commenced, and this season features a new theme song in all its prominence.

The hit and popular college football preview program announced last month that Big & Rich, a country music duo, would no longer perform as the show’s opening act.

To offer a new rendition of “Comin’ to Your City” for the 2023 season, rock band The Cadillac Three will be joined by country music icons Darius Rucker and Lainey Wilson.

However, the song was not that popular among the fans, and on online platforms, it received unfavourable reviews. While it appeared that many people were glad to hear the music again, it seemed more related to the start of the season than the song’s selection.

The new “GameDay” theme song was released on September 2nd and was later broadcast in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The theme has a life of its own, and many ardent college football fans align their passion with the music, which is also highly regarded.

The singer-songwriter Big $ Rich has lent their voice to “CollegeGameDay” for more than 15 years, and they also announced it on Platform X.

Pat McAfee has commenced his second season with the CollegeGame Day crew. Jess Sims and Jen Lada have made appearances in the show as well. The novel presence of Steve Coughlin was there, who made picks during the show.

At the conclusion of the programme, Rucker returned as the guest selector for Week 1. He was given a standing ovation by the crowd and encouraged the South Carolina supporters.

However, the presence of David Pollack was missed by the fans, as he was recently laid off by ESPN.
