Shedeur Sanders is the son of Deion Sanders, a Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback and University of Colorado head coach.
Sander is a quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes.
The quarterback dominated the FCS level and had a 68.4% completion rate and a 70 to 14 touchdown-to-interception ratio in two seasons at Jackson State.
Sanders was named the best FCS freshman in 2021 and subsequently won the Jerry Rice Award.
Well, Sanders was also named the Black College Football Player of the Year and received the Deacon Jones Trophy the next year.
The quarterback was the top offensive performer at the FCS level and a finalist for the Walter Payton Award as well.
According to ESPN, the quarterback has concluded 38 of 47 passes for 510 yards, which as a result is the most passing yards ever by a player in their FBS debut. He also became the first quarterback from Colorado to exceed the 500-yard mark.
Deion Sanders regarding his son’s abilities has expressed, “We had some guys that singled themselves out with their playing and their playing ability,”
“A lot of guys you doubted — one of them from an HBCU — I think he had 510 yards passing in a Power 5 football game. And he happens to be my son, and I’m proud of him, tremendously.”
Sanders Strength points:
- Sanders stands out at Jackson State for his decision-making processes, ball placement, and capacity to provide a danger at every single level.
- He is a skilled athlete who can go through the pocket, evade pressure, and make some outside of the rules.
- Sanders is an incredibly dynamic playmaker at the quarterback position and has just as much influence with his legs as he does with his arms.
- Extremely athletic and quick, which is natural given his ancestry.
Sanders Weak points:
- Despite his ultimate strength, the quarterback requires a total refurbishment mechanically.
- Sanders slows down his passing motion both inside and outside the offensive framework.
- Fails to maintain concentration on the quarterback’s main position.
- His accuracy needs improvement and if were to play in the NFL for a long time, then he needs to gain muscle.
Incredible feats can be expected from the 21-year-old and only his dedication and time will tell if he will be able to attract the NFL’s ultimate picks and consideration.
