Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown was making headlines constantly during his time in the league as one of the best players in the league.
Since then, his tumultuous departure from the NFL has been nothing short of chaotic.
After retiring from the NFL, Brown decided to become a part owner of the National Arena League’s Albany Empire.
Brown’s father, Eddie Brown, played for the Albany Empire during his time as a professional athlete.
While some may have seen Brown’s decision to invest in his father’s old team as a way to pay homage to his father and to try to improve the team, it has been the complete opposite.
Instead, Brown has been involved in incidents of unpaid bills/players while also allegedly locking players and coaches out of their hotel rooms.
After several team captains decided to approach team officials about their missing game checks, they returned to their hotel only to realize their room keys no longer work. After discussing with staff members of the hotel, they realized that this was Brown’s decision.
The employees of the hotel were given a list of “players to not be given room keys per Antonio Brown Group,” according to TMZ.
Brown has been a constant fixture in news/media headlines for all the wrong reasons since ending his 11-year career as an NFL wide receiver. Once remembered for being one of the greatest receivers to ever play in the NFL, Brown is now viewed as a liability and distraction.
