The now-retired and future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady knows what it feels like to switch teams after a long and decorated tenure with a franchise. Speaking from experience, Brady seems to be in support of the newest Hall of Fame quarterback to switch teams after an extensive term with one team, Aaron Rodgers.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine reported that Brady was asked about Rodgers’ ending up with the New York Jets this offseason after spending the last 18 years with the Green Bay Packers, and he had this to say:
Tom Brady when asked about Aaron Rodgers going to the Jets: "It’s like you go through a lot of years at one place and there's a lot of, I would say, mental scar tissue, from losses or relationships or certain experiences. ‘Oh, this guy had said this once,’ or ‘that teammate,’ or…

"… you go through a lot of years at one place and there’s a lot of, I would say, mental scar tissue, from losses or relationships or certain experiences… Now you go to a new place and you have none of that…"
Brady spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots before spending the final three seasons of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Based on his comments, he is implying that the change of scenery helped remove any distractions or lingering drama that may have stemmed from his 20-year career with the Patriots.
"And now you get to go to a new place with a different type of emotional energy," said Brady. There is certainly a new and different type of emotional buzz in New York since the Jets acquired Rodgers. A team with the longest current playoff drought across all four major sports suddenly believes they can win the Super Bowl.
"Aaron’s been, when he’s [Rodgers] got good receivers, man, it’s pretty dangerous. … I think he’s going to have a great year," Brady stated.
Brady seems just as excited as everyone else to see how Aaron Rodgers and the Jets play this season.
