Shohei Ohtani injury update: All about Angels’ star’s possibility of going under the knife for his torn UCL

Los Angeles Angels were struck has a major blow as one of its star players Shohei Ohtani is likely to undergo Tommy Jones Surgery in the coming days.

Ohtani suffered a UCL injury in August and this has now followed up on the latest MLB insider of his surgery, expected to be in 10 days or so.

However, the decision on his second Tommy Jones surgery is yet to be announced

The decision of the Japanese superstar to go under the knife might roll out earlier than anticipated.

Although Ohtani has not formally announced or concluded a decision to undergo surgery at this moment.

As far as sources have cited, it is more than likely that Ohtani will be on the bed and go through the surgery in 10 days to patch up his torn Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL).

Also, as per reports, it has been suggested that operating on the injured elbow seems likely to be inevitable.

It has been put forward by opinion that the need for some kind of procedure for Ohtani’s elbow injury is of importance, while it will be of Tommy John surgery is yet to be formally announced.

The surgery creates a possibility of him missing the role of pitching in 2024, but it will firmly ensure that he will be ready and fit enough to be a designated hitter (DH).

As promising as he is as a player, Ohtani will surely be ready for the upcoming season, no matter the procedure he will undergo in the next few days.

Recently, Ohtani’s future in the Los Angeles Angels has been put into question as he is going to be a free agent in November.

As soon as he becomes one, he is targeting to draw one of the highest contracts that account for $430 million, but his torn UCL has raised some questions about his strategy.
