Christian Wood signs with LA Lakers: All about the deal, including salary and length of contract

The LA Lakers have signed free agent Christian Wood, and the former Dallas Mavericks power forward will pocket $5.7 million.

Wood has spent time at the Rockets, Pistons, and Pelicans after starting his career as an undrafted player for the 76ers in 2015.

The skilled Wood averaged 16.6 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Mavericks last season and will join the likes of Jaxson Hayes and Anthony Davis at the LA team.

The game which probably sealed his move to the Lakers came last season when he scored 30 points and picked up 8 rebounds against the LA team on an X-mas Day win.

He averages 38% on three pointers, a full four percent higher than the Lakers combined total. The 6-foot-10 Wood is only the fourth player of that height and above, to have made 100 three-pointers in the past two seasons.

The Lakers look to have depth, and ‘height’ to their team this season.
