The Portland Trailblazers could reportedly lose veteran point guard Damian Lillard to the Heat.
In the latest trade update, the Trailblazers veteran, who joined as the fifth overall pick in 2012, could be on his way to Miami – but this is looking like a pipedream.
According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the two sides, “are not having discussions right now.”
Lillard has made a trade request and is looking for a way to join Miami, but it seems as if the momentum of sealing a move away from Portland has stalled.
According to Heat Nation, who quoted ESPN’s Zach Lowe and Bobby Marks, there is a grim chance of the move happening.
“I think the only way we hear about Dame is if Dame makes it messy … And I don’t think Damian Lillard, right now, is willing to make it messy in Portland,” Marks said.
Lowe had his say, “I’ve heard there’s been nothing, I mean no meaningful dialogue.”
For now, Lillard remains a Trailblazer and his wait to leave Oregon will have to be put on hold.
