The U.S. team bounced back after facing Lithuania’s dominance. However, the team changed its direction with a win against Italy. The score of the game against Italy was 100-63.
Mikal Bridges, who plays with the Brooklyn Nets, took the limelight in the game against Italy with 24 points and seven rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton, the point guard for the Indiana Pacers, added 18 points.
As per Yahoo Sports, Mikal Bridges, regarding the game, said, “We’re all ready to make that shot, to go make that play,”
“That’s never gonna go nowhere. We just got dogs in the locker room, man. We all know what we can do. We can all shoot, dribble, pass, defend, do everything.”
The U.S. team will now face Germany in the semi-finals. The Germans defeated Latvia, and the score was 81-79. They have talented NBA players like Franz Wagner, Moritz Wagner, Dennis Schröder, and Daniel Theis.
Steve Kerr, the U.S. coach regarding the game, expressed, “It’s been a five-week journey for this group, and there’s five more days,”
“We’re the horse turning back to the barn. The horse starts picking up the pace when it senses it’s near the barn. That’s what’s happening right now. Our guys are sensing this is the end of the journey.”
