The quarterback faltered and collapsed to the ground. The family of Martin reported to KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh that their son had a “significant brain bleed as well as a collapsed lung.”
Martin’s mother disclosed that the chest tube had been taken out. She further explains that his lungs are fully recovered and he is responding to nips.
However, Martin still has a long way to go before he fully recovers. His eyes have only marginally responded to light.
He was admitted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Earlier, his mother, Stacy King Martin, shared a post on Facebook, and now his father has also come forward.
His father said, “There wasn’t much hope. I put out in a Facebook post that we need a miracle. We needed one and people went to work. And within the last 24 hours, he showed improvement that he hasn’t shown before any of these vigils took place,”
In order to pray for Martin’s quick recovery, hundreds of people, including football players from all across the area, attended a vigil for him on Sunday night.
