The upcoming NFL season opener for the Kansas City Chiefs will be against the Detroit Lions, and their All-Pro tight end, Travis Kelce, has suffered an injury.

The Chiefs were preparing for their match, and in a practice session, Kelce sustained an injury to his knee. However, the team is evaluating star tight end Travis Kelce, according to head coach Andy Reid.

According to ESPN, the head coach, Reid, said Kelce is suffering from a  hyperextended knee. Unfortunately, this incident happened during Tuesday’s practice.

Reid, regarding the matter, said, "The next guy steps in and we roll,"

“That"s what you do if [he doesn"t play]."

Skyy Moore, the Chiefs wide receiver, claimed that he was in the middle of running a route when Kelce was hurt. Moore said, "He was limping when I saw him, like, just walking off the field,"

“It was a good sign to see him get up by himself and get off the field."

Moore, regarding the offense side, expressed, "It"ll be a little bit different. … Everybody will be able to fill in the gaps. Obviously, that"s a Hall of Fame tight end, but we"ll be able to do our job and pull across the finish line."

The multiple All-Pro participated in every Chiefs regular season game in 2022 and had 110 receptions for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Blake Bell, another tight end who is on the active roster regarding Kelce’s injury, said, "He"s one of the toughest, and we can"t wait for him to get back out there,"

“We"re just going to keep doing what we do, and the rest of the guys in the room will be ready to roll."
