In a year filled with challenges for Giancarlo Stanton, The New York Yankees’ power hitter has achieved a personal milestone.
On Wednesday night, Stanton crushed his 400th career home run with a massive 451-foot blast to left center field.
Facing off against pitcher Jose Cisnero, Stanton joined an elite group of players by reaching the 400 home run mark in just 1,520 games.
This makes him the fourth quickest player to accomplish this feat, following the likes of Mark McGwire, Babe Ruth, and Alex Rodriguez.
This impressive home run was Stanton’s 22nd of the season.

“I didn’t have a number in mind when I first started this game, but it’s pretty cool to be here now and keep it going,” Stanton said.
Joining the ranks of legendary Yankees, he became the 58th player in Major League Baseball history to reach 400 home runs and the 10th player to accomplish this milestone while wearing the pinstripes.
Previous Yankees who achieved this feat include Mark Teixeira, Carlos Beltran, Alfonso Soriano, Alex Rodriguez, Gary Sheffield, Reggie Jackson, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, and of course, Babe Ruth.
Among active players, Stanton is only the third to reach the 400-home run mark. Miguel Cabrera currently leads with 510 home runs, followed by Nelson Cruz with 464.
As Stanton acknowledged the roaring Yankee Stadium crowd with a curtain call, he solidified his place in baseball history.
“That was great,” Stanton said. “It was awesome seeing all of my teammates and they’re excited and having fun with it, and to be able to go out for a curtain call was the cherry on top.”
