Just a couple of days ago, San Francisco 49ers star pass rusher Nick Bosa’s status for Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an ongoing contract dispute. However, with that matter resolved, nothing seems like it will prevent Bosa from suiting up.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Bosa would need to have a “beer belly” to sit out Sunday’s game versus the Steelers:
Kyle Shanahan on the possibility of Nick Bosa NOT being available to play Sunday: "He'd have to have a beer belly and be out of shape."
In other words: He's playing.

Following an extensive contract holdout, Bosa and the 49ers were able to come to terms on a long-term deal that makes Bosa the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. After signing a five-year, $170 million contract that includes $122.5 million in guaranteed money, Bosa will now remain with the 49ers through the 2028 season.
Bosa has been one of the premiere defensive players in football since being selected with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. Last season, he led the NFL with 18.5 sacks en route to being named the 2022 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
The 49ers had arguably the best defensive unit in the league last season thanks in large part to Bosa’s presence and ability to wreak havoc on the field. He is a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks and offensive coordinators alike for his ability to destroy a game plan.
Shanahan seems to have no concerns about Bosa’s readiness to play despite being away from the team throughout training camp, so neither should we.
