Cooper Kupp injury update: All the reasons as to why Rams WR won’t be playing in the opener against Seattle

Cooper Kupp, the wide receiver of the Los Angeles Rams, currently has a lot on his hands due to his hamstring issue.

Unfortunately for Kupp and the Rams, it seems like he will miss the season opener.

However, it is unknown how long the injury will keep him out of the games.

The Los Angeles Rams will play against the Seattle Seahawks in their season opener.

According to ESPN, the head coach of the Rams, Sean McVay, regarding Kupp’s injury stated, “I think you just move forward, and you have to be able to operate with the situation and the guys we do have and if he’s able to go then that’s outstanding for us and, if not, then that’s kind of how we’ve been operating,”

Kupp was primarily injured in a training camp session on August 1st, after which the wide receiver was also absent from all three preseason games.

McVay further said, “I think the most important thing is that whenever he’s ready to take the field, whether that be this week, whether that be Week 2, whatever it is, as long as he’s able to have that return to performance, he’s feeling like the Cooper Kupp that we all know and love and he’s got some clarity on, all right, what is really going on? I think that will be a really good situation for us.”

Kupp, after sustaining a high ankle sprain, missed a total of eight games in the last season.

Nevertheless, in the nine games he played, he had 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns.

In 2021, the wide receiver led the NFL with 145 catches for 1,947 yards and sixteen touchdowns. He was one of the leading players in the game when the Rams defeated the Bengals and clinched the Super Bowl.
