The San Francisco 49ers kicked off their regular season with their first practice session of the year on Wednesday.
However, the team was without several key players, including wide receiver Deebo Samuel and defensive end Nick Bosa, who are both still recovering from injuries.

Following his brief appearance in the preseason finale, George Kittle was forced to take some time off to rehab his groin injury.
The tight end had already missed practice during training camp due to the same strain, which included sitting out joint practices with the Raiders.
Besides George Kittle, the 49ers have a few other players who are dealing with injuries. Center Jon Feliciano missed Wednesday’s practice due to illness, while left tackle Trent Williams was given a veteran rest day.
Meanwhile, linebacker Oren Burks, safety Tashaun Gipson, safety Talanoa Hufanga, running back Jordan Mason, wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, and kicker Jake Moody were all limited participants due to various injuries.
Despite these limitations, the team remains hopeful that Moody will be able to play on Sunday, provided there are no setbacks.
On a more positive note, quarterback Brock Purdy, who had been dealing with a right elbow injury, participated fully in practice, and this is a positive development for Purdy, as he did not feature in any practice reports during the preseason.
Safety George Odum also showcased full participation, indicating that he is ready to contribute to the team’s defensive efforts.
