As per sources, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star receiver Mike Evans has sent a contract structure that is agreeable and also that takes Tampa’s consideration into account.

Earlier, Evan’s agent Deryk Gilmore had pushed the deadline to September 9 and the negotiation for a new contract is to happen before the deadline.

Well, the final year of Evan’s contract is near, and before the season starts, a new contract is due.

Gilmore expresses Evan’s plan to play more years of his career in Tampa and also highlights the Pro Bowler’s future who is into year 10 with the Bucs.

In the statement by Gilmore, it also included the prospect of Evan as a player:

“A player that will go down a Hall of Famer and still have four to six more years to play and make an impact in the league, Heaven and Earth should be moved to keep him on your team.”
Continuing on his comments on Evan’s contract extension, Gilmore stated that the work on extending has been in motion for over a year. This is not a tactic, as he added, and the outcome of the proposal of a new contract seems positive.

He also said they have put forward the timeline for a new deal to be closed soon, and the Bucs are given until the commencing of the regular season.

This will be an opportunity for the Bucs to make Evan a part of the team for life.

Some questions arise with the deadline approaching as this new contract and extension will only be for this season or for the long-term.

Well, a source revealed a new deal that will cost the Bucs $28.43 million in 2024 if they decide to go ahead with the deal.

As for now the talk and agreement is at an impasse, and it is clear that Evans will seek to join elsewhere in the coming year 2024 if no new deal is concluded.
