Richard Sherman was a sensational cornerback but is still finding his feet in the broadcasting world and made an unfortunate comparison on FS1’s latest episode of Undisputed.
Sherman compared new Lakers signing Christian Wood to the legendary LA player Pau Gasol, who recently had his number retired.
The former Standford CB spent 11 years in the NFL playing for the Seahawks, the 49ers and the Buccaneers, and is a Superbowl champion.
He should know about greatness, as he is regarded as one of the greatest corner backs in NFL history.
But he is struggling to make the transition to NBA analysis, especially comparing the lesser-known Wood, to one of the greatest ‘big men’ ever to play the game. The 7-foot 1 giant as a double NBA champion, a 6-time NBA All-Star and was drafted as the third overall pick in 2001.

Gasol is a Hall of Famer, with 20,894 points, 11,305 rebounds and 3,925 assists and was the first non-American to win Rookie of the Year in 2002.
Woods signed on with the Lakers recently, his eighth NBA team in a career that started in 2015. Do the math, that is one team per year.
He has unassuming stats and was an All-NBA G League Second-Team player in 2018, following that up the following year with an appearance for the Third-Team.
Sherman is so far off his assessment he may as well be comparing apples with tanks.
