There is always a shortage of world class quarterbacks across the 32 franchises on any given Sunday, but now there is a larger shortfall in QB’s wanting to appear on Netflix.
Executive Producer for one of the streaming service’s most popular documentaries “Quarterbacks” Peyton Manning admits he is struggling to find willing participants for season 2.
The first season received critical acclaim and a strong viewership as it covered the times and lives of three QB’s, Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota.
Cousins was named a 2022 Pro-Bowler, playing for the Vikings, while Eagles QB Mariota suffered a knee injury and was placed on the injured-reserve list on 14th December 2020.
“I think some of the guys are thinking that it is going to be a distraction, even though I told a couple of them, ‘I guarantee you’ll win the Superbowl like Mahomes if you do,’” Manning recently said.
He was hoping for the success of Mahomes for the Kansa City Chiefs would bring a good luck vibe, but it seems no QB is falling for the signal.
Manning admitted they tried to do the show two seasons back but ran into a similar problem. Finding quarterbacks that are world class, in front of the screen as well as on the field.
