Rams veteran QB Stafford shrugs wife’s comments off – says he definitely connects with his young Rams teammates

Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford has shrugged off any suggestions that he feels disconnected from his younger LA Rams teammates.

His wife Kelly recently made remarks of how her 35-year-old husband struggles to communicate with his younger generation teammates, but the former Detroit Lions legend has played down these comments made earlier this week.

"I was going to come out here with a newspaper under my arm with some spectacles. Set the mood, but it turns out you can’t even find a newspaper around here so I couldn’t do that," he joked.

"I love coming to work. I love working with these guys and they all know that.

"I’m not too worried about it [Kelly’s comments], nobody in that locker room is a worrying about it, I can promise you that," he added.

Kelly made the remarks recently, saying that the younger players were always on their phones, and there is not even a recreation room for the teammates to get to know each other.

But it seems like those comments are a storm in a teacup.

The former Georgia Bulldogs player is a Superbowl Champion, a member of the Detroit Lions All-Time Team and a 2014 Pro-Bowler.

He was the 2009 number one overall pick and played the bulk of his career in Detroit, before heading off West to LA in 2021.

The Rams are away to the Seahawks in week 1 and will want to do better than their previous campaign where they finished with a 5-12 record in the NFC West.
