NBA superstar Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry, are taking a giant leap toward eradicating food insecurity in underserved communities.
Thus, they are pledging to raise a staggering $50 million over the next three years.
The pair aspires to uplift the lives of children, particularly those hailing from Black and Brown communities.
Stephen and Ayesha’s commitment is channeled through their charitable foundation, named “Eat. Learn. Play.”
Established in 2019, this foundation embodies Currys’ vision to empower every child, irrespective of their background, by tackling childhood hunger, ensuring access to quality education, and creating safe recreational spaces.
Currys firmly believe that these fundamental elements are essential for every child’s development, and they are determined to bridge the gap for those who have been unfairly deprived of these opportunities.
Golden State Warriors’ icon, Stephen Curry expressed his commitment to this noble cause during an interview with CBS News, stating:
“These kids deserve an opportunity to achieve their full potential, especially those from the Black and Brown communities.”
Ayesha Curry echoed her husband’s sentiments, adding:
“It’s the fact that these are three very simple things in life that every child should have access to, and so when you’re not afforded these things, it’s like, how can I even dream?”
What sets “Eat. Learn. Play.” apart is the Currys’ dedication to ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly back into the community.
Stephen and Ayesha cover all the charity’s operating costs, thereby maximizing the impact of every contribution.
Beyond the immediate impact of their efforts, the Currys aspire for their charity to become a “lifelong project” and their vision extends far beyond Stephen Curry’s illustrious NBA career.
