Kelce was the only player on the Super Bowl champion team to be issued an injury designation ahead of the season opener.
However, there is some good news for Chiefs fans, as wide receiver Kadarius Toney and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who both suffered knee injuries during training camp, are expected to be ready for the game.
However, Chiefs coach Andy Reid remained tight-lipped about the severity of Kelce’s injury during Tuesday’s practice.
While he did not divulge any specific details, sources have indicated that there is no ligament damage.
Meanwhile, his brother and podcast partner, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, shed some light on the situation.
Speaking on WIP, Jason mentioned, “he’s got some swelling going on,” and alluded to a bruise on the bone that could take some time to heal.
“From what we know right now,” Jason Kelce said, “his knee is fine. It’s about getting that swelling down.”
Travis Kelce had a career-high record with 110 receptions for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns.
