Jonathan Taylor trade update: Will Taylor play during week one? Will he play for the Dolphins, Packers or the Colts?

The Indianapolis Colts will commence their NFL season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Deon Jackson will be the starter of the game.

However, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network Insider,  the Indianapolis Colts running back, Jonathan Taylor will remain on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

He will be there on the list through the Week 4 game which will be played against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fortunately, Taylor is feeling fit health-wise and would be able to pass a physical test if there are such requirements. The running back will be able to come off the list.

Taylor sustained an ankle injury which required surgery. The Colts placed the running back on the PUP list on August 29th as he was taking his time with his recovery.

When Taylor requested and received approval to pursue a trade in August, the two top teams were the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers.

The Miami Dolphins pursued trade talks with the Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard but no deal was fortified.

According to NFL, Dolphins GM Chris Grier regarding the trade said, “I can say there was no exchange of offers from either one of us, it was just general talks,”

“In terms of being close or anything, there was nothing really close.”

Additionally, there is a slight but conceivable potential that Taylor will come back to play for the Indianapolis Colts.

However, this would require a contract extension and side-by-side Taylor is retaining his fitness as well.
