Strickland was up against ‘The Last Stylebender’, Israel Adesanya.

The American fighter delivered consistent pressure and sturdy upright boxing and crushed Adesanya’s spirits in the first round.
The former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya, was supposed to fight with Dricus du Plessis, but he was unavailable, as he was unable to heal from an injury in time.
Subsequently, as a result, Strickland came forward for the fight.
Strickland captured Adesanya’s attention in the opening round with a left-right combination that diffused Adesanya’s guard and put him down.
Adesanya appeared to be in great pain since he even turned his back on Strickland, who swung away and threw punches at him until the first round’s conclusion. Strickland almost knocked out the champion at that point.
The fifth man in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings, Adesanya, was unstabilized from the earlier putdown. He was unable to use the dynamic, striking style that made “The Last Stylebender” famous.
In spite of everything, Strickland maintained his composure, remained standing, and defeated the Champion valiantly.
