Last Sunday, during a game against the Houston Astros, Jasson Dominguez, a rookie outfielder for the New York Yankees, felt discomfort in his elbow.
Ignoring the initial pain, he continued to play but reported it to the team on Wednesday after it had progressively worsened.

However, what fans didn’t anticipate was the devastating news that followed.
Just before the series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers, Dominguez was scratched from the starting lineup due to elbow inflammation.
Later, it was revealed that he had torn his UCL (ulnar collateral ligament), sidelining him for the remainder of the season and potentially affecting his playing time in 2024 dependent on his recovery from the anticipated surgery.
With the torn UCL, Dominguez is facing a lengthy recovery process.
Position players typically require 9-10 months of rehabilitation after undergoing Tommy John surgery, the most common procedure to address UCL injuries.
