UFC fighter Sean Strickland made multiple offensive and sexist comments during his pre-fight press conference. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Strickland has made confrontational statements and he has developed a bit of a reputation for making outlandish remarks.

“We need to go back to taking women out of the workforce,” said Strickland. During his rant, Strickland alluded to the notion that women gaining the right to vote/work has led to the decline of the United States as a country. Additionally, Strickland suggests Americans “elect somebody that’s going to put women back in the kitchen.”

Strickland’s comments were eye-opening and the fact that he was smirking and laughing throughout the entire outburst made matters even worse. The American middleweight was given a platform to speak his mind due to his main event fight against Israel Adesanya in UFC 293.

Despite being a heavy underdog, Strickland defeated Adesanya and stripped him of his championship belt. Unfortunately, his impressive victory is now overshadowed by some devastating comments.

It remains to be seen how President of the UFC Dana White is going to respond to Strickland’s antics. For the time being, White has stated his desire to book a rematch between Strickland and Adesanya, but no statement regarding Strickland’s pre-fight comments was released.

As long as White continues to look the other way when Strickland speaks, he will keep speaking out and making bizarre comments such as this.
