Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had every fan wondering: “What did Aaron Rodgers ever do to him?” A small grammatical error nearly created chaos, even though Mahomes was just trying to wish Rodgers well after suffering an injury four snaps into the New York Jets win over the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers went down awkwardly early in the first quarter after taking a sack from Bills edge rusher Leonard Floyd. He got up on his own power only to sit back down on the ground shortly before the medical staff came out and helped him off the field. Eventually, a cart escorted Rodgers from the sideline to the locker room.
Per Jets head coach Robert Saleh, “It’s not good.” Saleh said that he expects an MRI to confirm that Rodgers ruptured his Achilles.
If the MRI does confirm Rodgers’ Achilles is ruptured, he will be forced to miss the remainder of the season and require surgery to repair.
According to Pro Football Network, the average recovery time for an Achilles tear is in the “10-12 month range, though we did see Cam Akers make it back in just six short months back in 2021.”
Former No. 2 overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft Zach Wilson will be the Jets starter for the remainder of the season according to Saleh.
Turning 40 years old in December, Rodgers’ injury now puts his career in question after playing just four snaps for the Jets.
Mahomes, the rest of the NFL, and Jets fans will continue to monitor the situation while wishing for the speediest recovery possible.
