Aaron Rodgers injury: Rodgers’ Injury a Major Blow to Jets’ Super Bowl Hopes

The New York Jets suffered a devastating blow on Monday night as their top quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles.

The game in which this unfortunate incident happened was against the Buffalo Bills.

Well, the Jets however won the game and with the score-line 22-16.

Rodgers fell uncomfortably on his left leg after being sacked by the Bills’ Leonard Floyd, tearing his left Achilles tendon.

However, HC Saleh later confirmed that Rodgers would get an MRI later.

The 4-time NFL MVP, Aaron Rodgers was helped off the field by the staff and head coach Saleh regarding the injury expressed, “Concerned with his Achilles,” 

“MRI’s probably gonna confirm what we think is already gonna happen, so, prayers tonight. But, it’s not good.”

Saleh further said, “That’s the part that sucks,” 

“I’m going to enjoy this win. Winning in the NFL is hard regardless of who the quarterback is. But personally, I don’t hurt for me, I don’t hurt for the locker room. I hurt for Aaron. I’m still going to say a prayer, hold out hope. My heart’s with Aaron now, no one else.”

Rodgers was hurt while attempting to twist out of Leonard Floyd’s sack. His body twisted, appearing to catch his left foot in the grass. He seemed to be fine initially but soon sat down on the ground.

The New York Jets also expressed and said, “Not the way any of us wanted it to go, but we know the commitment you’ve made to this team will continue to impact us moving forward,”

As per newyorkjets.com, Zach Wilson who will be the starter and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft also expressed his thoughts and said, “My heart breaks for Aaron,” 

“The work that he’s put in, he goes above and beyond. I have no idea what’s going on with him, but my job is to make sure I’m ready to be able to step in there and run the offense efficiently. Aaron’s the greatest of all time, in my opinion. I’ve got big shoes to fill.”
