“If anybody had a right to be an a*****e, it was Tom. He never was” Kyle Rudolph opens up about Tom Brady as teammate

Former Tight End for the Buccaneers Kyle Rudolph spent just one year with Tom Brady, towards the end of both their careers but believes that there is an aura to the legendary quarterback.

He was full of praise for the legendary Brady, who shared a locker room with Rudolph for a year at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“My experience with Tom was incredible. First, the way he treated people. The way he treated the Glazer family (Bucs owners) is exactly the way he treated the janitor at 6.30 at night …”

Brady is regarded as the GOAT QB in NFL history, winning the Superbowl six times with the New England Patriots and once for the Buccaneers.

Rudolph is a two-time Pro-Bowler (2012, 2017) spent 11 years at the highest level.

The former Notre Dame TE said recently that Brady had an empty locker next to him, specifically used by other players to let Brady sign jerseys, helmets and footballs. If this is not GOAT status then nothing is, believes the former Vikings tight end effusively.

“There’d be notes on the stuff, a post-it note on the football – ‘Sign this for Jimmy, it’s his birthday.’

“At the end of the day, almost every day, he’d sit there and sign everything,” Rudolph continued.

Such was his impact the Patriots recently had Tom Brady Day when they hosted the Eagles, and while they lost 20-25, there was so much fanfare around Brady that the result almost faded into the night.

The former Michigan star was drafted at 199 in the 2000 pick and not much was expected of him, but he went and forged one of the winningest careers in NFL lore.

“If anyone had the right to sometimes be an a*****e, it was Tom. He never was,” Rudolph concluded.

What a player, what a teammate.
