Houston Rockets’ talented guard, Kevin Porter Jr., found himself in handcuffs on Monday following allegations of assaulting his girlfriend and former WNBA player, Kysre Gondrezick.
The incident took place inside the upscale confines of the Millennium Hilton New York Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
Apparently, the Manhattan police department received a 911 call at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Monday, reporting an assault at the aforementioned hotel.
Responding swiftly to the call, officers arrived at the scene and were met with a distressing sight.
Ms. Gondrezick was found with a visible cut on her face and was experiencing neck pain, indicative of a physical altercation.
As per the New York Post, Porter Jr. is alleged to have struck Gondrezick multiple times and, even more disturbingly, placed his hands around her neck during the altercation.
The severity of the incident led authorities to promptly transport Gondrezick to a local hospital for a thorough medical evaluation.
Thankfully, she was listed in stable condition after the evaluation.
In the wake of this shocking incident, the NBA community has been rocked by mixed reactions.
While many have expressed concern and support for Gondrezick, a segment of NBA fans have controversially sided with Kevin Porter Jr.
Here’s how NBA fans responded:
“Do you still hoop or you just a IG model now?”
“I’ll need to hear both sides of the story.”
“Free my guy.”
“Awwww instigated a fight and sent your boyfriend to jail 😂😂.”

Kevin Porter Jr. has faced legal issues before.
On November 15, 2020, he was charged by Mahoning County police for improper firearm handling inside a vehicle.
However, the grand jury in Mahoning County decided not to pursue felony gun charges against Porter.
Additionally, misdemeanor charges related to driving without a license were also dismissed.
