In a surprising twist during “Monday Night Football,” some Green Bay Packers fans found themselves in an unexpected situation at Jack’s American Pub, a Milwaukee bar. The bar had a unique promotion going on this season: they promised to cover the bar tab of anyone who ordered a drink 15 minutes or more before the New York Jets’ game against the Buffalo Bills started.
The catch? The Jets had to lose for this offer to be valid, and this season, they had Green Bay’s star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, after a recent trade.

Things looked promising for free drinks when Rodgers left the game with an injury during the Jets’ first series. But, as the saying goes, “That’s why they play the games.” To everyone’s surprise, the Jets managed to stay in the game and eventually secured a thrilling overtime win when rookie Xavier Gipson returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown.
Reporter A.J. Bayatpour captured the moment when Packers fans realized they’d have to pay for their bar tabs. Adding to the shock, the promotion was rendered null and void because Rodgers is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon, and the rules stipulated that he had to start the game for the promotion to apply.
