There is something awesomely poetic in the St. Louis Cardinals camp with MLB pitcher Adam Wainright set to ‘pitch’ his tone at the final home game of the regular season at Busch Stadium.
The aspiring singer has been with the Cardinals since 2005 and is a 3-time All-Star and a World Series Champions.
Wainright has a career win-loss record of 199-128 and boasts 2,199 strikeouts.
In March 2023, he surprised his teammates with moving performance of the national anthem before the Cardinals home team opener against the Blue Jays. He said nervously after the game, “I didn’t mess the words up.”
The pitcher has a goal to become a country music singer and has already hosted his first concert in January this year, singing to 500 fans in Springfield, Illinois.
He is also desperate to host an episode of Saturday Night Live, while has also made his film debut in Proximity, a 2016 comedy-drama. Thje bulk of the shooting was done in 2015 when he was out for a sustained injury to his Achilles (nudge nudge wink wink to Aaron Rodgers).
Wainwright has also launched and successfully run a popular fantasy football network, operating in eight cities. The league raised $1 million for charity in 2015.
The multi-talented star also made his broadcast debut in October 2020, calling a game between the Marlins and the Braves on Fox Sports 1.
The Cardinals host the Reds in their last regular game of the season, and we can safely say that Wainwright will be the ‘perfect pitcher’.
The Cardinals are in last place in the NL Central while the Reds could still quai9lfy for a playoff spot.
