A day of mourning as Brandon Hunter, a former NBA player, passed away on Tuesday after collapsing during a hot yoga class in Orlando.
He died at the age of 42 the former NBA player played for the Celtics, Magic, and then across Europe. Hunter’s death was confirmed by Ohio University and the Magic on social media Wednesday.
Magic also released a statement paying tribute to him on Tuesday. They wrote, “We are terribly saddened to learn of the loss of our former teammate, Brandon Hunter and we send our deepest condolences to the entire Hunter family.”
They also added, “Hunter is an Ohio basketball legend,” and “Our thoughts are with Brandon’s family at this time.”
The Ohio men’s basketball coach Jeff Boalsa also wrote on social media to extend his and the team their condolences. He wrote, “Rest In Peace to a Bobcat Great, Gone way too soon.”
T.J. Ford, an Ex-NBA point guard, also posted about Hunter’s death, he typed “’Lost another good brother, Rest easy my friend.”
Even though the news of Hunter passing away this Tuesday has been official, the cause of his death has not yet been officially announced.
The only credible information gathered centering on his death is that he collapsed while doing hot yoga. Hence, the cause of death has not been immediately known or disclosed as of now.
According to his mother-in-law Carolyn Cliett Hunter fell on the ground suddenly during a hot yoga session at an Orlando studio.
She said, “It was hot yoga which he goes to regularly,” and also “He was in good shape as far as we know him, We’re also just shocked.”
