Dan Le Batard is a legend in the sports media world and has come out strongly in favor of Mina Kimes, who picked up a multi-million-dollar contract extension at ESPN.
Kimes will earn $1.7 million a year and is known as one of the most respected analysts, writers and broadcasters in the game.
The dogged journalist has been making waves since her days as a financial reporter for Fortune and Bloomburg News before venturing into sports after writing a piece for ESPN on the relationship between herself, her dad and the Seattle Seahawks.
Her sports career flourished and in nine years she has become a respected face of football at ESPN. The former Columbia Journalism Review writer has forged a strong career and Le Batard, a prominent media personality and co-owner of The MeadowLark Media, has endorsed her as a sports journalist with an authoritative voice.
Le Batard was defending Kimes after comments made by Outkick’s Clay Travis and Bobby Burack.
“When you go after that woman, not having any earthly idea how hard it is overcoming all the bull**** in this industry by knuckle draggers at the executive level and on social media,” Le Batard said.
“People don’t want to hear from her. Outkick–good god almighty, **** stain, you have birthed an army of **** stains,” he lashed out.
Le Batard was smashing fellow broadcasters and rivals on his post-game podcast recently.
“Mina Kimes—and this made me so happy for her—as a former business reporter who had to prove herself to a whole bunch of people who say, ‘You never played. What the hell do you know about football?’ Well, she showed them. And she shows them all the time,” he continued.
Kimes will continue to polarize views in a male-dominated sport broadcasting world, but she is determined, as is her staunchest ally.
