Church instead of Ayahuasca: Newsmax host’s solution to Aaron Rodgers’ problems

The impact of Aaron Rodgers injury in his first game for the Jets is reaching unprecedented levels with Newsmax host Greg Kelly getting in on the act, saying the star QB should stay off psychedelic drugs, and that the reason his Achilles snapped was because he was high on the tea.

A banner headline for the show screamed: “DANGEROUS CONSEQUENCES FOR RECERATIONAL DRUGS”.

As everyone in the world, and probably on Mars knows, Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achille injury on the jets first snap in their opening week 1 game against the Bills, a match they won 22-16 in overtime.

The injury has sparked so many theories and rumors, such as the Jets should sign Tom Brady, that it was inevitable to land on a news desk on a cable news network.

“He got involved in psychedelics, this Ayahuasca tea? Something like that,” he told viewers.

“It gives you this, you know it’s ooh I love you bro kind of mentality … It’s not good and he took it and encouraged others to do it, and I think that was a very harmful message,” he continued his diatribe.

“How about going to church,” Kelly suggested.

The tea, A South American psychoactive brew is illegal in the US, unless it is used for religious purposes.

Ayahuasca is legal in many countries but is prohibited in the USA.

Rodgers is known to have used the tea on a few occasions, when traveling to Peru and admitted “a lot of healing went on.”

Rodgers was also a speaker at the Psychedelic Science 2023 Expo, where he recounted some of his experiences with the tea, and how the brew has helped him in his football career.

“There’s been hundreds of NFL guys, who’ve reached out,” Rodgers said at the time.

He is a well-known advocate for the herbal brew and former NFL great and Hall-of-Famer Tony Gonzalez said the tea will actually be helpful in times like these.

“He is mentally prepared to tackle this mountain. Because it’s going to be a mountain for him,” said Gonzalez at the Thursday night game between the Vikings and the Eagles.
